Employee Handbook & HR Policies
The policies, benefits, conduct rules, leave conventions, and employment practices that apply to TechAbout employees.
Leave Types & Entitlements
Family is the most important part of any person's life. Unlike companies that pressure employees to take fewer leaves than they deserve, TechAbout actively encourages its people to use their full leave entitlement and spend that time with family. Well-rested, rejuvenated employees benefit both themselves and the organization.
What the Company Offers
Leave entitlements depend on how long an employee has been in permanent employment. The tables below set out the leave available within the first year of the permanent period and the expanded entitlements that apply after one year.
Within the First Year of the Permanent Period
| Type of Leave | Duration |
|---|---|
| Casual leave | 5 days |
| Sick leave | 5 days |
| Maternity leave | 3 months (paid) |
After One Year of the Permanent Period
| Type of Leave | Duration |
|---|---|
| Casual leave | 10 days |
| Sick leave | 5 days |
| Annual leave | 5 days |
| Maternity leave | 3 months (paid) |
| Paternity leave | 5 days |
| Wedding leave | 5 days |
Earned Leave
After completing one year of permanent employment, employees become eligible for earned leave. Untaken casual and annual leave may be encashed. Sick, maternity, paternity, and wedding leave are excluded from encashment.
The encashment amount is calculated as follows:
Encashment amount = (Gross Salary ÷ 30) × Total untaken leave days
Sandwich Leave
Sandwich leave is not granted. When a leave period spans non-working days, the entire span is counted as total calendar days taken rather than business days only.
Directors' Leave
Any leave category not specified in this policy falls under the directors' discretion. Directors retain 5 reserve days that may be used to approve exceptional leave requests.
